ATLETICO RETURN DELIGHTS TORRES

Fernando Torres is extremely delighted with his return to boyhood club Atletico Madrid after his appointment was confirmed by the reigning La Liga champions towards the end of last month.

Spanish international Fernando Torres previously made his return to Atletico Madrid in a playing capacity, but he’s returning to the club as a coach this time. Torres has been confirmed as the Juvenil A coach. The ex-Liverpool, AC Milan and Sagan Tosu striker would be responsible for the u-19 team at the club as from the start of the 2021/22 season.

Fernando Torres is happy with his return to the club this summer having been away from the club for several months due to personal reasons. He was a part of the first team coaching setup under Diego Simeone in a bid for him to learn the way things are done at the club when it comes to football coaching and management. Armed with the required knowledge on football coaching and management, Torres has been given a big responsible to play a part in developing the next football stars. The Spaniard was previously with the u-19 team.

Torres is determined to make a strong start in the job he has been given as he wrote on his official Twitter handle while celebrating his return to Atletico Madrid. The 37-year-old is a cult hero amongst the Atletico Madrid fans.

He came through the Atletico Madrid Academy before turning out for the first time where he scored 82 goals in the league over the course of five seasons before securing a transfer to Liverpool. Torres became a monster to defenders while he was at Liverpool. He signed for the Reds in the summer of 2007.

Fernando Torres scored another 27 league goals when he returned to Atletico Madrid on loan from Chelsea in 2014. He ended his career at Sagan Tosu in Japan two years ago.
