Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has welcomed the addition of Vitolo to the team.

He was linked to the club but there were reports that he could also renew at Sevilla. Vitolo arrived at Sevilla on a short term basis where he was expected to stay on.

Liverpool latest signing Georginio Wijnaldum says he still cherishes Fernando Torres and has held on to the shirt of the player even after so many years.

The game turned brutal when the referee blew the whistle for the game to be over after the stalemate of 1-1 was not broken in regular time. It was a pre season friendly and the former Newcastle player got the shirt of the former Kop hero in the midst of the chaos. (more…)

The Portuguese did not utilise Torres to the full extent and ended up sending him on loan to AC Milan. Now, Torres has become a permanent part of Milan and is now playing at Atletico Madrid on loan until the end of the campaign. This has allowed him to get an experience of working under Diego Simeone, who has become one of the most revered coaches in European football over the last three years. Simeone has been able to make Atletico into a title winning team despite not having much resources. Instead, his work has been focused on improving the objects available at his disposal and this includes the players and the small transfer fees. (more…)
